Students' activities

The main co-ordinator of students' activities is the Students' Council formed at the beginning of the academic year. After all the introductions have been made and students know each other then alternative ways for arranging activities are possible. The Students' Council also acts not only as a discussion channel but also as a link for delivering messages to the college's personnel.

Leisure facilities on Campus

Games

Pool tables in the billiard room are probably the most popular option to spend time during the breaks. Both tables are in a reasonable condition, balls roll and cues work. Everyone's success in the game is on one's own responsibility. A ping-pong table is located in the gymnasium where you can also enjoy playing badminton, floor-ball, volleyball and mini football.

The Adult Education Centre of Huittinen arranges exercise lessons 1-2 times a week at the College and the fees are very reasonable for students. There are also volleyball and football pitches at the College.

Movies

On Mondays (unless some other time better suits the students) it has become a tradition to arrange movie evenings. The variety of films changes from old good classics up to the latest releases. An outstanding hall, comfortable seats, high quality projector and speakers - all these make movie watching as enjoyable as possible.

Sauna

The Opisto has its own sauna on the shore of the Loimijoki River. The sauna is heated on Wednesday evenings. Next to the sauna there is a cozy chimney hall that offers opportunities for celebrations and pleasant evenings. The sauna and showers were renovated in 2006.

Parties

One of the duties of the Student Council is to take care of the team spirit of students. This is why in accordance with students' needs the Student Council arranges different evening events and parties such as Acquaintance Parties, Halloween parties, toga parties, pan cake feasts, Christmas parties etc.

Anniversaries

The College's Anniversary day is the 1st of November. However the approach to the date itself is flexible and the celebration is held either on a Friday or Saturday evening. Then the College arranges a Ball as well as offers dinner and drinks to the guests. The celebration ends with a fireworks display. This event is by invitation only and naturally all the current students of the ongoing academic year are invited.
