History

The Constituent Assembly of Western Finland´s Folk High School Society was founded in Lauttakylä, Huittinen on 2.4.1892 from which time the oldest Finnish-language Folk High School in our country commenced its work. From its original aim to develop national self-consciousness, the School has since progressed into a modern, international and forward looking educational cradle.




                  

Mission and values

West Finland College is an independent institute of adult education whose mission is to offer study programs for additional and further education in the area of Humanities with an emphasis on internationality. Strengthening tolerance, multiculturalism and internationality is at the basis of all the activities performed by the College.

International Partnerships

The college works in close co-operation with domestic and foreign educational institutes and high schools. We have a long tradition of creating such international connections. The international activities take the form of student and trainee exchanges, teacher and professional exchanges, language and cultural studies, Summer Language Camps and international development projects.
