Partner dance courses at West Finland College
West Finland College’s partner dance course was held for the first time back in autumn 2018. Over the years, the long partner dance course has been joined by a variety of intensive dance courses. The dance courses at West Finland College attract familiar faces from years gone by, but new enthusiasts inspired by dance join in every year! Liisa Kontturi-Paasikko, the teacher in charge of the partner dance programme, has gathered around her a wonderful range of dance professionals, and the teaching at West Finland College is of high quality and attentive to the individual.
On weekday teaching days at West Finland College, students are served breakfast and lunch. The meals are included in the course price. Depending on the accommodation situation, staying overnight during the course is often also possible in the dormitory in the college grounds. This intensive week is full of foxtrot music in different tempos and styles, and all its variations. That family of dance rhythms is the one that also covers a host of wonderful dance styles, including foxtrot, bugg, slow foxtrot, quickstep and, with a little variation, many more besides, especially the very best one of all: simply dancing by feel.
