This is a combined register description and privacy policy in accordance with Sections 10 and 24 of the Personal Data Act (523/1999) and Articles 12 and 13 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (679/2016), covering the customers, potential customers, newsletter subscribers, people registering online for courses and website users of Länsi-Suomen opistoyhdistys ry. Legal basis and purpose of processing personal data
The purpose of processing personal data is to keep in contact with customers, to develop customer relationships and for marketing. Personal data is processed on the basis of the consent given by the data subject or of a contract.
The processing of personal data may also be based on the legitimate interest of the controller or a third party.
The information is not used for automated decision-making or profiling.
Data content of the register
The information stored in the register does not include personal data if it is not necessary for the current or a potential customer relationship.
The register may contain the following information:
the person's name and role or position in the company
company or organisation
contact details (address, telephone number, email address)
the address of the company's website
information related to the co-operation
other information related to the customer relationship and the services ordered.
The information is kept for as long as it is necessary for the co-operation.

represents a company that is a customer or partner of West Finland College
has registered for a course or training programme at West Finland College
has otherwise given their consent to being added to the register, for example by message or email.
Disclosure of information
Our service providers comply with data protection legislation. We use the following service providers: Google, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Facebook and Instagram advertising tools.
Data may be published to the extent that this has been agreed with the customer.
Register security principles
Protecting personal data is important to us. The register is handled with care, and data processed in information systems is protected appropriately. When register data is stored on internet servers, the physical and digital security of the hardware is taken care of appropriately.
The controller ensures that stored data, server access rights and other information critical to the security of personal data are handled confidentially. Access to the database is restricted with usernames and a password.
Access rights are granted only to persons bound by confidentiality and trained in the use of the register, whose position and duties require such access.
Right of access
Jokaisella rekisterissä olevalla henkilöllä on oikeus tarkistaa rekisteriin tallennetut tietonsa ja vaatia mahdollisen virheellisen tiedon korjaamista tai puutteellisen tiedon täydentämistä. Mikäli henkilö haluaa tarkistaa hänestä tallennetut tiedot tai vaatia niihin oikaisua, pyyntö tulee lähettää kirjallisesti rekisterinpitäjälle. Rekisterinpitäjä voi pyytää tarvittaessa pyynnön esittäjää todistamaan henkilöllisyytensä. Rekisterinpitäjä vastaa asiakkaalle EU:n tietosuoja-asetuksessa säädetyssä ajassa, pääsääntöisesti yhden kuukauden kuluessa.
Other rights related to the processing of personal data
Rekisterissä olevalla henkilöllä on oikeus pyytää häntä koskevien henkilötietojen poistamiseen rekisteristä (“oikeus tulla unohdetuksi”). Niin ikään rekisteröidyillä on muut EU:n yleisen tietosuoja-asetuksen mukaiset oikeudet kuten henkilötietojen käsittelyn rajoittaminen tietyissä tilanteissa.
Pyynnöt tulee lähettää kirjallisesti rekisterinpitäjälle. Rekisterinpitäjä voi pyytää tarvittaessa pyynnön esittäjää todistamaan henkilöllisyytensä. Rekisterinpitäjä vastaa asiakkaalle EU:n tietosuoja-asetuksessa säädetyssä ajassa, pääsääntöisesti yhden kuukauden kuluessa.
