ANSSI KIRKONPELTO

Anssi Kirkonpelto works at Oulu University of Applied Sciences as team leader and dance teacher on the dance teacher degree programme. He holds a dance teacher qualification from the Oulu Conservatory and Oulu University of Applied Sciences, as well as  a Master of Arts degree in dance from the Theatre Academy.
In addition, he has completed the member-level examinations of the IDTA (International Dance Teachers Association) in ballroom and Latin dances, the dance teacher qualification of the Finnish Dance Teachers’ Association, and the level 2 qualifications of the Finnish DanceSport Federation (adjudicator and jury training).

Anssi teaches ballroom and Latin dances, social dances and dance didactics. His professional goal is to develop pedagogy in the field of dance, and especially the pedagogy of partner dance styles. Anssi does a wide range of sports, reads a great deal of professional literature and is interested in academic fields related to dance.
