Apply for the Music theatre programme! 

The audition is held at West Finland College on Mon 21 November starting at 17.

Apply by Mon 7 November at the latest by sending your name and contact details by email to niina.kastari@lsopisto.fi. Include in your email a short description of your previous theatre, music and singing experience.

Application instructions:

​

1. Prepare 2 musical songs in different styles, max 3 min / song. Be prepared to perform them by heart. Bring sheet music for the accompanist.

2. Prepare a short movement piece of max 2 min on the theme “Autumn from a leaf's point of view”.

3. Learn the monologue below by heart. Be prepared to work on it according to the instructions given at the audition.

4. The audition includes a short choreographed dance section. Remember to warm up for it. Bring jazz shoes with you if you wish.

 

Monologue:

Sometimes I pretend I am a butterfly. I fly lightly over the meadow and turn my face to the sun. I smell what the meadow smells like and forget this world. Sometimes the meadow is so real that it brings me to tears. The wings are so beautiful that I start to laugh. I feel the sun and breathe the wind moving through the grass. And I don't even sneeze. 

 

Other:

 

Arrive in good time and wear clothes you can move in. Make sure your hair is off your face. Bring your sheet music taped together and mark clearly for the accompanist the section you will sing. Be a bold version of yourself! We would love to get to know you as an artist.
