DANCE COURSES
Autumn at West Finland College includes many intensive partner dance courses, with Latin dances, slow dances and tango as themes.
Registration for the courses is already open; on the registration form, please state the name of the course you are registering for.
The courses are also part of our three-month partner dance programme.
INTENSIVE LATIN DANCE COURSE 11.-15.9.2023
This course focuses on the basics, the figures and the musical interpretation of the Latin dances danced at Finnish dance pavilions. The dances are rumba-bolero, cha cha, salsa and bachata. The course is part of the 3-month partner dance course.
The teachers are the college's ”own” teachers: Liisa Kontturi-Paasikko, Elisa Ahonen, Anniina Koivuniemi, Lasse Paasikko, Niina Kastari as well as a visiting teacher (to be confirmed later).
The course price is 340€ (in addition to the teaching, it includes breakfast and lunch on the teaching days). PLEASE NOTE! You can also attend only the visiting teachers' days. In that case the price is 80 € / day / participant. The schedule will be confirmed later, when we will announce the visiting teacher days.
INTENSIVE SLOW DANCE COURSE 23–27 OCTOBER 2023
The slow dance course explores dancing the slow waltz, the slow foxtrot and the ”slows” with a creative approach, digging into technique and seeking a new kind of perspective on working together as a couple.
The teachers are the college's ”own” teachers: Liisa Kontturi-Paasikko, Elisa Ahonen, Anniina Koivuniemi, Lasse Paasikko, Niina Kastari and, as a visiting teacher, Rake Salo.
The course price is 340€ (in addition to the teaching, it includes breakfast and lunch on the teaching days). PLEASE NOTE! You can also attend only the visiting teachers' days. INTENSIVE TANGO COURSE 20–24 NOVEMBER 2023
The Finnish tango is a versatile and many-layered dance, with plenty to reflect on and to vary. These are the things we dig into on this intensive tango course.

There is a limited number of places on the course, and participants are selected in order of registration.
